Ashlynn at 22 Months

Our girl has developed quite the personality and at 22 months she definitely knows what she wants and isn't afraid to tell us what she really thinks. She is talking up a storm- 4-6 word sentences and can tell us pretty much everything. Ashlynn is starting to "read along" with mommy and has most of her books memorized. She also has started to "read" to mommy & daddy and tells us all about the story and pictures in the book. For instance, in Goodnight Moon, she told me that the mouse is in a different spot in every picture (I hadn't even noticed)! Ashlynn can count to 20 and knows some of her ABC's. Ashlynn can now officially sing the entire ABC song...she's been singing all the parts for several months, but in the last few weeks finally put all the pieces together. She woke up the other morning and said excitedly- "Look mommy, look- the ABC's are on my sockie" and pointed to where it said "Carters." She been noticing that the ABC are on other places too and points them out to mommy- signs, store fronts, mommy t-shirts, & etc.

She still enjoys dancing and music-but really wants mommy & daddy to dance along with her now. Her favorite songs right now are "Jingle bells," "Away in the Manger," and "Ashlynn peed/pooped on the potty." Yes, we are potty training- I wasn't really planning on it until summer, but Ashlynn was showing all the signs of being ready and so far has done very well. We are proud of our big girl! Although, we both feel like she is growing up too fast.

Ashlynn is lovin' the snow- the first few times she touched it she thought her hand needed to be washed because the white stuff was "dirty & cold." She squealed "Wee" the entire time during her first sled ride. We are appreciating everything again this winter through her eyes and are looking forward to Christmas too!
